Day 11- Han Yang Ling Museum -Lying in north suburbs of Xi'an beside Wei River, Han Yang Ling Museum is built for exhibiting, protecting and studying the relics unearthed from the mausoleum of Han Emperor Liu Qi and his Queen, Wang Shi. After 28 years of construction, the Mausoleum of Han Yang Ling was finished in 126 B. C., occupying an area of about 20 square kilometers. Many clay warriors, maiden and animals have been unearthed from its over 200 satellite tombs, showing vividly the life of the royal families and ordinary people in the Western Han Dynasty (206 B.C. - 23 A.D.).What makes the Museum unique is it has an underground exhibition hall, where visitors can watch how the workers do their jobs without doing any harm to the relics from the above standing on the large glass floor, which will make the visiting quite an experience. Admission Fee: 90.00 RMB Opening Hours: everyday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.Public Transportation: Take the Subway Line 2 to station (Xingzhen Zhongxin):- then walk to the Xian City Sports Park and catch the Bus No 4 which goes directly to the museum every day; the ticket is only RMB 3.00 per person. The bus operates from 8:00 am to 5:25 pm, but as there are only two buses operating between Xian city to the museum, it is not easy to catch one- but at this price it is worth the wait. This Museum was the highlight of our trip and not many people seem aware of it's existance.
